Dennis Polio is an associate with the law firm Holtzman Vogel Josefiak Torchinsky PLLC. Dennis’s practice focuses on First Amendment, redistricting, and election-related litigation and appeals as well as lobbying, ethics, and tax-exempt organizations’ compliance. Dennis regularly co-authors amicus briefs and appellate briefs in the Supreme Court of the United States, the various federal courts of appeals, and state supreme courts. Dennis has also authored and co-authored several articles in academic journals and with the Congressional Research Service in the Library of Congress.
Prior to joining the firm, Dennis served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carmen E. Espinosa, Associate Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, and worked in the Office of General Counsel for the Republican Governors Association in Washington, DC. Before law school, Dennis spent several years as a political consultant in Connecticut working with candidates and campaigns for local, state, and federal office.
Dennis graduated cum laude from Fairfield University with a B.A. in Politics, magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law with a J.D., and from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University with an M.P.A. While in law school, he served as a Lead Articles Editor on the Syracuse Law Review, an Executive Editor on the Digest, the National Italian American Bar Association (“NIABA”) Law Journal, where he was published, and founder of the Syracuse Political Law Society. Also, while in law school, Dennis was sponsored by Judicial Watch to participate in the 9/11 military commission at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a non-governmental observer. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar, the DC Bar, the Republican National Lawyers Association, and NIABA.
